How To Play Kimberly In Street Fighter 6 (Character Guide) (2024)

Kimberly in the new Street Fighter 6 brings the pain with her beat-dropping combos and colorful attacks. Her Street Fighting style is inspired by her desire to become a ninja based on the Bushinryu School of Ninjitsu. Additionally, Kimberly is a big fan of the 80s, using her spray paint and Walkman as she fights foes. Kimberly is an excellent fit for players who love 80s-style aesthetics and plenty of airtime attacks.

Kimberly in Street Fighter 6 can also be mainly compared to her predecessors, Guy or Zeku, from previous Street Fighter titles. For example, reflecting on the previous similar play styles, players should utilize her speed and agility to rush down opponents. Going high, drop-kicking low, and using projectiles as distractions, Kimberly gets in their faces to unleash deadly combos.

How To Use Kimberly's Sprint Moves

How To Play Kimberly In Street Fighter 6 (Character Guide) (1)

Kimberly's attacks in Street Fighter 6 are very fast-paced with her sprinting and aerial moves. She can attack from all angles and reposition easily, which is suited for beginners and pros alike. This also means that while lunging at opponents, players can either trip up the launch or grab them to gain an advantage. The main feature of Kimberly's kit includes her important Sprinting ability, which is the core to rushing opponents, much like Cammy in Street Fighter 6. To initiate Kimberly's Sprint, players need to use the following moves:

  • Down
  • Forward
  • Kick

To Emergency Stop Kimberly out of her Sprint press the Punch button. This should be used when falling back to try to reset her footing.

How To Use Kimberly's Special Attacks

The Bushin Senpukyaku Special Attack for Kimberly in Street Fighter 6 can be used as an anti-air attack to combo opponents in the air. It is also an excellent reversal option and can be done with the following moves:

  • Down
  • Back
  • Kick

Another notable Special Attack is the Vagabond Edge which uses the moves:

  • Down
  • Forward
  • Punch

These attacks are often used to initiate combos with the Light, Heavy, and Overdrive options helping Kimberly knock back opponents. This move should be used to drive opponents to the corner of the map as Wall Slams give to Kimberly an advantage for her upcoming attacks.

Rounding out Kimberly's Special Attack kit is her Nue Twister. This move is an anti-air or midair combo attack that grabs the opponent and slams them to the ground. The moves to initiate the Nue Twister are:

  • Down
  • Forward
  • Punch

The Nue Twister grab attack can only be initiated in the air.

Spray Can Projectiles

Kimberly's Projectiles in Street Fighter 6 are nicknamed "Genius At Play" and are used as more of a distraction than a direct attack. They are weapons called Shuriken Bombs, personalized as modern-day Spray Cans. While at a distance, Kimberly can rush down opponents by confusing the target depending on how the Spray Cans are placed. By utilizing both of them simultaneously, land them in close contact with the opponent, then rush through to initiate a combo.

Alternatively, once the trick has been used, Kimberly should try to land her Spray Cans on the target as a feint before dealing massive damage. Furthermore, the Light to Heavy keys adjusts the placement and quickness of the Spray Can's explosions on the battlefield. They can also be used on the corner to stun the opponent in a knockdown attack further.

The main moves to initiate Kimberly's Projective Attacks are:

  • Down
  • Down
  • Punch (or 2 Punches for 2 Projectiles)

To regain the 2 Shuriken Bomb Spray Cans during the fight, do the same input (down, down, punch, or 2 punches). However, keep in mind that this uses the Drive Meter in Street Fighter 6.

How To Use Kimberly's Variable Teleport

Kimberly's Hidden Variable in Street Fighter 6 initiates a teleport attack with a cloud of spray paint to conceal her. This can mix up the offense baiting an opponent's reaction. Alternatively, it can also surprise them to make a hyper-offensive play. Close the distance with the opponent by teleporting and lunging forward or attack them head-on from the air.

The main button combo to initiate the Hidden Variable is:

  • Down
  • Back
  • Punch

Kimberly's Super Arts

How To Play Kimberly In Street Fighter 6 (Character Guide) (5)

Kimberly has three different Super Art attacks in Street Fighter 6, which all have several variations and are air-based, like Lily in Street Fighter 6. The basic buttons for inputting into the device are:

  • Super Art 1 - Bushin Beats
  • (Down + Forward) x2, Kick, and adds a Spray Can if in stock

Following her rush-down play style, Kimberly's Super Art 1 knocks forward opponents with a flurry of attacks. The move has an invincibility timer giving her an excellent option for countering opponents. Additionally, for its final hit, the player can initiate one of her Spray Cans if they are restocked; her damage will also increase from it.

  • Super Art 2 - Bushin Scramble
  • (Down + Back) x2, Punch

Next, Kimberly's Super Art 2 can attack the opponent head-on in front or midair. Use this as an anti-air attack or against projectile attacks to close in. This move is easy to use in a combo already in the air.

  • Super Art 3 - Bushin Ninjastar Cypher
  • (Down + Forward) x2, Punch

Finally, Kimberly's Super Art 3 move is important and has variations. When Kimberly has high health in Street Fighter 6, she will begin to attack the opponent midair with spray paint. Combo it with Vagabond Edge to get some air. At lower health, this move does more damage and is extended, slamming the opponent further toward the edge of the field. Regardless of whether she hits or misses, her 80s music will change, showing an electronic glow around her head. Kimberly then receives an 11% damage buff for the rest of the fight.
