Travis Kelce's comments on the April 16 episode of the New Heightspodcast could set Taylor Swift fans into a frenzy.
While chatting with his brother — and podcast co-host — Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end recalled the very first time he watched an R-rated movie.
"The one I remember watching that I didn’t even realize was rated R was 'American Pie,' and that was when we were, like, 10," Travis said. "I was just f------ going to the movies. I forget how I got in … I might have been there with someone else’s parents."
It didn't take long for hardcore Swift fans to put two and two together.
In her song "So High School," Swift mentioned that specific film by name.
"I feel so high school every time I look at you. I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you," read the lyrics. "I'm watching American Pie with you on a Saturday night. Your friends are around, so be quiet. I'm trying to stifle my sighs"
At leastone person quoted the line on X, sharing a clip from the podcast.
The song is just one on Swift's The Tortured Poets Department that fans believe she wrote about Travis. Interestingly, he previously said that the song is his favorite off the album.
"I might be a little biased to 'So High School,'" he told Peoplemagazine in May 2024.
